Mr. Chapman: The One who Lays the Lumber

By Madison Heidkamp and Ben Jackson|

Have you ever thought about doing woodworking, pre engineering, or perhaps even automotive? If so, then Technology Education teacher Mr. Chapman is the man that you should consider consulting. Or take one of the many classes that he teaches here at The Morgan School. Mr. Chapman is an incredibly helpful and kind man to both the staff here as well at his students. He truly cares about his work. He would go out of his way to help anyone here.

Classroom

In one of the several classes that Mr. Chapman teaches: Woodworking, we talked to some students to learn what they are doing. Senior Chris Vicino claimed that “this class is very diverse. I believe I speak for the majority of the class here when I say that I thoroughly enjoy it as it is helpful in every day life.”  Another student, Senior Gibson Silva states that “it gives me insight on the woodworking world.” Silva also tells us that he has never taken a woods class before, and he is excited to progress in his woodworking skills.

Previously to working at The Morgan School, Mr. Chapman worked at Old Saybrook High School for nine years.  Bristol Central High school was his first year of teaching and believe it or not he actually taught Aaron Hernandez.

During his free time, Mr. Chapman thoroughly enjoys spending time with his children who he adores, going to Vermont with his whole family and taking his dogs for long hikes. Overall, Mr. Chapman is a very kind and understanding teacher to talk to and to learn from. We would highly recommend taking one of the many classes that he teaches here at The Morgan School.
