Eli Phelps, a sophomore at The Morgan School, picked up his first trumpet seven years ago in fourth grade and has been playing ever since. He is now a part of the concert band conducted by Raymond Smith. Eli Phelps practices 2 hours every day after school during the week. Additionally, Eli takes private lessons from Mr.Ladone, a teacher Mr. Smith recommended, once a week since fifth grade. That’s impressive, especially because he is balancing school and having a social life on top of it all! In fact not only has Eli’s passion for playing grown over the years, but his talent has as well. His talents have grown so great that he recently auditioned in East Haven, and was awarded All State Trumpet Player.
