Pursuing an Education Major

Senior Julia White has been an active member in the Morgan community throughout the past four years. Julia recently committed to Endicott College in Beverly, Massachusetts to further her education. She will be majoring in elementary education and hopes to become an elementary school teacher.

Julia chose Endicott because of the great programs they offer and the location. She said, “They require every student to fulfill an internship every year. I also liked the study abroad opportunities they provide for every major, which was hard to find at other schools. I also loved the location and being right outside Boston and on the water.”

Julia was inspired by her mom to become a teacher. Her mom was a daycare assistant, so Julia spent a lot of her days after school and summers at the daycare. She said, “I loved working with younger kids my whole life, and I really want to make a positive influence on little kids entering school for the first time.” She also currently works at Clinton Child Services, helping with their daycare program. She said, “It’s given me so much hands-on experience with the field. Kids always need support in their lives and I want to be there for those who don’t get it at home.”

Julia during spirit week

During her sophomore, junior and senior years, Julia ran indoor and outdoor track for Morgan. During her senior year, she was the only female captain for both teams and earned All Shoreline Honorable Mention for the 2023-2024 indoor track season. Julia said, “Track helped me to keep a consistent workout and I love getting pushed by my coaches to be a better runner, and person in general.” On top of sports, Julia was also involved in many clubs. She has participated in React, Interact, Spirit Squad, Debate Club, and Social Justice Club.

Julia said, “I’m going to miss my friends the most. I like being in a tight-knit school with so many connections. I also like being able to have real relationships with my teachers since it is a small school.” Julia has been a very active member of our Morgan community, and we wish her luck with her future plans.
