According to usnews.com, The Morgan School is ranked 61st out of 204 high schools in Connecticut. Schools are ranked based on their performance on state-required tests, graduation rate, and how well they prepare students for college. By the usnews.com definition, a great high school “educates all of its students from different social and economic backgrounds, exposing them to challenging coursework on the path to graduation.” The highest-ranked schools have outstanding performance in math, reading, and science state assessments, have earned qualifying scores on college-level exams, and graduated a high percentage. Information for these measurements was found on certified websites updated annually. The US Department of Education website contains information on enrollment and student ethnicity. Statewide math, reading, and science assessment scores come from  U.S. Department of Education’s EDFacts Data Files. High school graduation rate information came from each state’s education agency website. The College Board was the source of AP exam dates and scores for each school.
