This year’s Swoosh For Change fundraiser game was held on April 26, at 6 PM. The fundraiser was a faculty vs. students basketball game. Both teams were coached by Senior basketball players. The faculty team was coached by Jack Nye, Kolby Clifton, and Maeve Madura, and the student team coached by Mason Krott, Ava Johnson, and Ryan Donadio.

The Swoosh For Change game was originally set to be on March 28, at 6PM. Due to septic issues at Morgan, the game was cancelled and rescheduled for April 26. The cancellation of the first date led to a restart with the planning process. This reschedule led to scheduling conflict for those who planned on attending on the original date.

Senior Class Advisor and Morgan Social Worker, Maureen Tranquilli added that working around sports schedules was also a struggle. This resulted in a good turnout, but not as big as past years. Senior Class President Sean Davis said, “I think it is great that we were able to hold the event despite some setbacks; however, I was a little disappointed that there wasn’t as big of a turnout as past years. With that being said, it still raised needed money for our prom and carried on a long tradition.”

The end result of the fundraiser was $1,122. The funds gained from the game are distributed 50/50 between the Shoreline Soup Kitchens & Pantries and the Class of 2024. The part of the money raised for the Class of 2024 goes towards their Senior Prom, although their goal was to also use this money towards the Senior’s Six Flags trip. There was not enough money raised to provide for both of these events.

The faculty team was up for most of the game, while the students still competed and trailed behind. As the game progressed, the student team started to catch up to the faculty. Halftime consisted of a performance from the Morgan Rock Band, a $1 half court shot competition, and a raffle. Towards the end of the game, the game started to become close and much more competitive than the first half. The final score of the game was

61-50, with the faculty team taking the victory.
