Dedications and Charities
Stephen “Sully” Sullivan Poster (Gabi Navarra)

On Saturday, January 6th, The Morgan Fencing team held the Morgan Fencing Invitational. The invitational started at 9 a.m. and ended around 3 p.m. The invitational was dedicated to Stephen “Sully” Sullivan, the previous Morgan Girls Soccer head coach, and a community collection for Bare Necessities charity. The fencing team set up a table to collect both diapers and baby wipes from anyone who wanted to donate. After this invitational, the team has donated just under $10,000 worth of products over the past three years.

Donations were also collected for the loving memory of Sully, who was a huge supporter of the Morgan Fencing Team and was close friends with Coach Jim Barnett, on the fencing team. Donations were given to Friends of Joel in Sully’s name.

At this invitational, there were a total of five separate teams, including Morgan. The other teams competing were Simsbury, Daniel Hand, Guilford, and North Haven.

Hi! My name is Gabi Navarra, I’m a junior and this is my third time working for The Morgan PawPrint. I'm on the girl's soccer team and track & field team here at Morgan.  I’m back producing for the PawPrint because I enjoy the freedom and opportunities the PawPrint has given me. I have been able to take photos for both sports and different school events, write articles, and learn how to film and edit videos. This class gives a taste of what it is like to be a journalist out in the real world for those who possibly want to work in the journalism field in the future.
