This week health teacher Rachel Lupone started her transition from Jared Eliot Middle School to Morgan. Mrs. Lupone worked at Eliot for 1 1/2 years.

Mrs. Lupone believes that the biggest difference between high school and middle school students is that high school students are much more mature and independent than they were in middle school.

Mrs. Lupone graduated from Francis T. Maloney High School in Meriden, CT and attended Roger Williams University in Bristol RI. For her teaching degree, she went to Central Connecticut State University in New Britain, CT.

She decided to become a health teacher because health is an essential topic for teens. She believes health is important for students to take because it is something that teens go through in their everyday life.

Before Clinton, she worked at Haddam-Killingworth High School for 3 years as a health and gym teacher. Before that, she subbed as a gym teacher for a couple of years at Chester Elementary School.

She lives in Clinton with her 2 kids and her husband. Outside of school she enjoys exercising, being outside, hiking, and spending time with her family.

Her first impression of Morgan is that the faculty and students are very welcoming, and the environment is very positive.
