Every year a committee of the parents of seniors gets together to discuss where our project grad will be and how to raise money to make the event special and memorable for the seniors. Although the location will not be revealed until Tuesday, June 23rd, the night of graduation, multiple fundraisers have occurred such as the tag sale, restaurant profit shares with Palmieri’s, Bruno’s Roma Di Notte, and McDonalds, the Jim Spinnato hypnotist show, and a wine tasting night for the adults.

project grad (2)Many parents have helped out and truly worked hard to make this possible. Senior class parent Jane Barnett described what project graduation is. “It’s a celebration for all of the seniors to make sure that you guys have a safe graduation night. We wanted to raise enough money so everyone is able to go, regardless if they can afford it or not.” Mrs. Barnett said that the two parents who have really stepped up and gone above and beyond the planning were Patty Esposito and Debbie Beatty.

Seniors don’t know where we will be going, but there have been some clues around the school like the big mural in project grad (3)the cafeteria that is beach and island themed, with all of our names written on rafts. Senior Alaina Hartnett gives her opinion, “I’m excited. There’s a lot of secrecy behind project grad, but I heard some rumors, and it sounds like it’s going to be really fun.” Senior Angie Cook is very excited about graduation night. “I don’t know where we’re going, but I know it’s going to be fun! It’s the last chance for our whole grade to get together.”

On behalf of the senior class, I would like to thank all of the parents who have helped out these past four years to make it a special night for all of us. We’re all very excited to see where we are going and what we will be doing when we get there!
