Stranger Things Season 5, Volume I, has just come out on November 26th, after waiting almost four years for the new season. They are currently in the process of releasing the season in three parts, Volume I, which has been released, Volume II, which will come out December 25th, and the series finale, which will conclude the season on December 31st.

Stranger Things is a science fiction series consisting of seasons in total. It premiered on Netflix in July of 2016. It centers around a group of kids in the town of Hawkins, Indiana, where they uncover supernatural mysteries, while also figuring out government conspiracies as well as an alternate dimension called the “Upside Down” while also figuring out how to navigate a normal, teen life. Season five is the most-watched debut for an English-language series in Netflix history, with 59.6 million views in its first five days.

Pawprint reached out to super fan Dylan Cinquino, a senior, who was interviewed. He has watched it all the way through six times, and immediately each time a new season comes out, he looks forward to watching since he started watching in 2019 during quarantine for covid.

“My favorite season is season 3. The vibes were better, the colors were better, and the overall plot was better,” Cinquino explained.

Season 3 is based on the Russians attempting to open a new gate to the “upside down” underneath a new mall in town. The group is forced to fight against a new monster, called the Mind Flayer, who possess and consists of many people in town. Eleven, a telekinetic girl, fights alongside her friends and shuts the gate once again.

The season features songs like “Material Girl” by Madonna which was a core song in the 80s, something Cinquino appreciated, “The 80s vibe is cool. It makes it more lively and more fun to watch,” Cinquino added.

The new season includes the character Vecna, played by Jamie Campbell Bower, who is also seen in the movie Harry Potter while also including the main character Will, played by Noah Schnapp, who is seen in the movie Hubie Halloween, which is conspired to be the most understood character, because he doesn’t receive a lot of screen time, even though he is a main character in the show, gaining powers alongside Eleven, who is known to be a powerful figure with superpowers.

Cinquino likes the changes to the new season. “I like the new season, I think it’s cool that they gave Will powers and that Max is alive inside Vecna’s memories. I’m excited to continue to watch the show, and I will be watching the last episode in the Movie theater” Cinquino said.

The last episode of the series will be streamed in the movie theaters for viewers to watch on the big screen. It will still be released on Netflix for viewers to watch in the comfort of their own home.

Students across Morgan have their predictions for the end of the show, and many are taking a guess at which main characters will die. Predictions can include the fan favorite, Steve, Will, Eleven, and more. Viewers are excited to see how the series comes to a close, but sad to let it go.

To get the views of teachers, Jordan Bean, a Spanish teacher was interviewed by the Pawprint. He has been watching the show since 2020.

“Any season that came out, I watched it right away, I found myself awaiting the next season,” Bean explained.

His favorite season is Season 1. He feels nothing beats it as it is a very complex show to be watching. There are a lot of details. Every season is treated like a long movie, making it a lot more engaging.

“I don’t think a lot of main characters are going to die. They are saying Vecna is misunderstood, and that he might time travel,” Bean said.

Bean adds onto the known conspiracy that Vecna is not as bad as viewers think he is. As season 5 goes on, viewers look forward to watching the series finale throughout the end of December. Will the conspiracy theories come out to be true? That’s what has to be found out.
