The Met Gala is a fundraising event that brings together A-list celebrities. This event raises money for the Metropolitan Museum of Art. It is known for the extravagant outfits the celebrities wear to advertise for different designers. The tickets to the event are $75,000 each, and this year’s event raised about $26 Million.
Each year there is a theme that the celebrities have to follow with their outfits, however that does not usually happen. This year’s Met Gala was on May 6th. The theme was “The Garden of Time,” which is inspired by J.G. Ballard’s short story that was written in 1962.
While this event is a fundraising event, it is most known for the carpet walk. The looks are the biggest part, and outlets such as Vogue and People are there to take photos and interview the guests.
