My name is Ava Johnson, and I have been a part of the Morgan girls basketball team for the last four years. I have been playing basketball since elementary school, and have been inspired by the recent growth in women’s basketball and the impact it has had on me as a player, and my teammates. I created this website: The Culture of Women’s Basketball to inform others of the recent success in the WNBA and NCAA Women’s Basketball. I also included my own experiences and the experiences of my teammates, growing up playing a mostly male-dominated sport, and the inequalities that we faced.

Women’s basketball is an incredible sport that deserves more recognition and appreciation. It is important to acknowledge the recent progress and achievements of women’s basketball to continue to support its growth at all levels.
