Girls Basketball Competes in 2024 Shoreline Championship

Huskies Fight to the Finals

The Morgan Girls Basketball team has had a phenomenal 2023-24 season. They ended their regular season with a record of 17 wins and 5 losses. For the first time since 2021, they competed in the Shoreline Conference Championship. The game took place at Coginchaug Regional High School on Friday, February 23rd at 7pm against East Hampton. After a long fight, Morgan eventually lost to the Bellringers, 44-62.

On top of having a great record, head Coach Caitlyn Woods was named the Shoreline Conference Coach of the Year. Sophomore Sadie Passante earned All Shoreline Honorable Mention, senior Maeve Madura earned All Shoreline Second Team and senior Ava Johnson earned All Shoreline First Team.

The girls will continue onto the Class M state tournament and play their first game on February 29, at Morgan at 6:30pm. In Class M, Morgan is currently the #8 seed and earned a bye for the first round of the tournament.

Hi! I'm Lily Tanner, I am a senior in high school. This is my second semester with the Morgan PawPrint. I am a full time soccer player during all four seasons, and I am a part of the Morgan Girls Soccer team, and the Morgan Track and Field team. I am an artistically driven girl. I love everything art, writing, and anything I can create on my own. I chose to take Journalism because my time at Morgan is withering away slowly, and I would like to experience being part of the Morgan PawPrint.
