The winter time is a particularly difficult for those in need. The lack of adequate clothing and winter weather items leaves some exposed to the harsh elements. That is why starting this week, in collaboration with Clinton Human Services, Morgan National Honor Society will be running a Winter Wear Drive.
The clothing/gear drive will run until December 16th, 2023. Donations can be made in the decorated large blue boxes in the upper and lower hub at Morgan. Additionally, community members who would like to donate can find a donation box located in the lobby of the Henry Carter Hull Library in town. Clinton Human Services, who will aid in the distribution, has requested specific new items this year: hats, insulated gloves, socks, scarves, kids PJ’s, and kids underwear.
As stated above, Clinton Human Services is only accepting new items at this time, however, lightly used donations can be distributed elsewhere if received. The National Honor Society is strongly encouraging new donations.
National Honor Society President Robert Estabrook shared his thoughts on the drive. He said, “It’s a great opportunity to give back to the community. We as an organization are striving to do more for the people of Clinton.” He further explained that National Honor Society is currently in the midst of rebranding itself, and he hopes to continue work similar to this drive in the future.
