Senior Damien Sevieri researched the history of Native Americans in Hollywood after reading The Night Watchman by Louise Erdrich and Tell Me Who You Are: Sharing Our Stories of Race, Culture, and Identity by Winona Guo and Priya Vulchi:

My project is about the history of Native Americans in film and the stereotypes of Native Americans in film. I was interested in this topic because after reading The Night Watchman by Louise Erdrich. I thought about a movie I saw called Wind River. This movie is one of the few movies where I saw Native American actors, so I wanted to research why that is. I wanted to use my research to bring awareness to the portrayal of Native Americans in the media.
