On Thursday, March 7th, a social was held here at Morgan, which was facilitated by Morgan teacher Joanne Cozzolino. Students from Morgan teacher Melissa Harris’s class attended as well as students from Westbrook, Old Saybrook, Old Lyme, Haddam-Killingworth, and Valley Regional High Schools. The event, which lasted from 11am-1pm, included a series of stations in which the students participated in various activities. The activities included playing bingo, making dreamcatchers, and completing crossword puzzles.
The social is held every six weeks and the various school’s involved rotate who hosts the event.
During past socials, the students enjoyed many different activities such as pumpkin carving and a Christmas party. They are planning to go mini golfing in the spring. Senior Destiny Goulding, says that the socials are “exciting, and fun to interact with others.” Mrs. Harris believes that the social is a great way for the students to be able to socialize and meet new people. Students from Mrs.Harris’ class made cookies for their guests.
The next event at Morgan is on March 26th, where students will attend a leadership training workshop.
