French and Spanish teacher Laura Martino planned a field trip based on the activities we are doing in class. All-Freshmen/sophomores/juniors and seniors took a  French trip to the Hill-Stead Museum in Farmington CT on November 11th. We explored the colonial revival mansion and got a full detailed, tour from a French-speaking member of the house. The French tour guide presented paintings by the following artists: Mary CassattEdgar DegasÉdouard ManetClaude Monet.

Not only did she give us a description of each painting, but she also gave us traced pictures to decorate. Students used the pictures and other materials provided to create their own impressionist masterpieces. It was a good experience for all of us to work together to create impressionist works.
