On Friday June 1, Morgan’s Katarina Wilkinson out pitched her with a complete game shut out to complete the 2-0 victory. The girls scratched a run in both the first and fourth innings to put themselves ahead early. With a great showing by the defense and pitching, they had an easy time and shot themselves to semis with a great amount of confidence. Coach Sal Fiorillo was full of confidence that the ladies would do well in the semis.
Unfortunately, it ended Monday with an 8-2 loss to Coginchaug. Coginchaug came out swinging, hitting more than a few extra base hits and a home run to top it off. Even though it ended on a negative note the Huskies had many accolades f; coach Sal Fiorillo won coach of the year, and Lauren Fitzgerald, senior, won All-State. Next year the girls hope to make another run and challenge the state for the championship.
