My name is Darby Oboyski. I have started a new club at the Morgan School called Video Game Club. In this club, members will play many different types of games including but not limited to Open World, Stealth, Horror, and competitive vs single player playthrough. English teacher Paul Beckett suggested that we start this club when my friend and I were playing Xbox in his room. The advisor for the club will be Assistant Principal Tyler Webb. the leaders of the club are Darby Oboyski, Tyler Haring, and Zeb Bovich. There are no restrictions on who can join. Even if you don’t play video games and just prefer to watch, that’s fine too.

During club time, we will, of course, be playing video games, but that’s a no-brainer. Once a month, we hope to hold a tournament on a game decided by the members and have prizes for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners. The prizes would be decided by the advisor and leaders. Because we will be playing different games, we want to change the type of game each week. We will take a vote at the end of the club on what type of genre we will play next week. Some things are still being determined such as what system we will play, what games we will play, how we will decide who plays who. Our goal is for everyone to have fun playing with or against friends.

Also, if you’re wondering what games we will be playing, will be playing Injustice 2, Mortal Kombat XL, Super Smash Bros. We also want everyone to try some games not many people may know about like Earth Defense Force 4.1, Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite, Killer Instinct, and others that we will discuss on the first day.

On the first meeting of Video Game Club, we will have a brief discussion on rules that should be followed. If you have any preferences for what system you prefer or what game you would like to play, that is something we will discuss during our first meeting as well. If you are interested in joining, our first meeting will be on Thursday, November 30th in the A-wing collaboration room.

If you have any other questions, email me at darby.oboyski@clintonpublic.net. We hope we to see many of you there.
