Dodge for a Difference

Who remembers making t-shirts with friends, wearing crazy knee-high socks, and taking team pictures at the Eliot dodge ball tournaments? Well this year, on November 25th, the Morgan School will be hosting its’ own dodge ball tournament. Anyone participating in the actual game needs to pay $10, and spectators must pay $5 at the door. Dodge for a Difference will be raising money for the Clinton Social Services Food Pantry, and the event is similar to Swoosh for Change since it’s not just students who can participate.

When we asked Mrs. Luther what Dodge for a Difference is, she replied, “…a way to get the Morgan community together and continue the spirit of #WeAreMorgan.” She gives credit of Dodge to Mr. Luther, who came up with idea when he suddenly said, “Let’s bring back dodge ball!”

Each grade is allowed one team of 10 participants with six people playing at a time. Faculty, the Clinton Police Department, and the Clinton Fire Department will also have their own teams.  Once team sign ups are announced, students will sign up for the team representing their class.  By November 5th, team rosters and payment of the $10 participation fee will be finalized.  Teams should wear appropriate but fun uniforms (bandanas are allowed!).

There will also be a t-shirt designing contest for the tournament! The deadline for the design submission will be October 15th, and the winner will be chosen by a committee. The design must be one color, front and back,  and will be used on a dark colored shirt. Please submit the designs on standard computer paper (8.5″ x 11″) to Mrs. Chausse or Mr. Luther.  Students who purchase the design winning t-shirts will be admitted to the game free of charge.

Dodge for a Difference will take place at The Morgan School gym on Tuesday, November 25th at 6:30 pm.  The entrance fee is $5 for spectators.
