As the Morgan boys’ baseball season comes to an end, the coaches reflect on how the season went. The boys’ made it to the second round of the state tournament, until they lost against Woodland. The boys had great teamwork this year with lots of work making sure everyone felt a part of the team.
2025 Season
The Morgan boys’ baseball team had a good season this year. Ending the season off with a 14-9 record. They played against many tough opponents, including Guilford, West Haven, Montville, and HK. They beat their main rivals, HK, twice during the season, and Cromwell twice as well.
However, there is always room for growth. The coaches had many things that they wished had gone better. “I wish we could have played a little better against North Branford and Valley,” said Coach Brown. Assistant Coach Neri added, “I think the only thing I wish was different is the last game against Hand, we got beat up pretty bad.”

Aside from those, they had lots of great memories, “[The] win against North Branford at home was a big win; we came from behind to win that game,” said Brown. The JV and varsity worked hard together during practice. The season went very well, the players all did good, and the teamwork was good. “I feel good about where we are. We have a really good team,” stated Neri. Two freshmen joined the team this year, Aedan Harkins and Cole Rockholz. The boys made sure to make them feel they were part of the team.
Coach Neri wants to involve the community more by doing more community service. During the season, they did some stuff with the Clinton Little League, which involved the younger kids.
Postseason
The boys started their postseason off in the quarterfinals. On Saturday, May 23rd, they played against Cromwell and came out with a loss, 2-0. “The mental state of players from the last game affected the shoreline tournament,” said Coach Neri.
Then, they moved on to the shoreline state tournament in the Class S. Their first game was against University/Classical on Monday, June 2. They came out with a huge win of 21-1. The coaches were able to get all 18 players into that game. Following that, on Tuesday, June 3, they lost 2-4 against Woodland, which ended their season.
For the 2025 baseball all-conference teams, Benji Brown (10th), Jack Henry Palazzo (10), and Wyatt Luke(12th) won second team. Also, Jacoby Brown (10th) got an honorable mention.
Key Moments & Players
Losing seniors is always hard for the baseball team. They are losing 5 seniors this year: Wyatt Luke, Dom Larabee, Creighton Johnson, Michael Ferraiolo, and Hunter Mancini. Mr. brown had most of them down at Eliot and on the Little League. “I’ve coached these guys for a

long time, so it will be tough to see them go,” said Brown. Wyatt and Dominic have played almost every game of their career on the varsity level. Losing the senior will give other guys a chance to be leaders. “There are some big shoes to fill, but I trust the younger guys and I think they will step up to the plate,” said Coach Neri.
Both coaches highlighted some of the players from this season: “Jack Henry Palazoo pitched very well, so did Jacoby Brown. Wyatt Luke continues to play above and beyond. Benji Brown had done a nice job on both offense and defense. Travis Aiken had played very well down the stretch.” Coach Neri wanted to highlight Jacoby Brown: “It’s his first year on varsity, and he pitched extremely well. He was a big piece of the puzzle this year.”
Looking Forward
“Kids have gotten better, everyone’s gotten better without a doubt, we just need to put all aspects together; hitting, pitching, and fielding together in one game,” said Brown. The boys will play on different summer leagues during the summer and play together with friends. ‘They need to continue to play and physically get stronger.” Coach Neri plans to run through a couple of things with each kid and let them know what he thinks they need to get better for next year.”
