2025, a year with fires burning in LA, TikTok getting banned, a new president elected, and an American Pope being picked. While these events happened nationwide, Seniors at the Morgan school had their own version of the year. From stepping onto a new stage to having that big win, seniors enjoyed every second of their senior year, with some special moments to share.

1. Morgan Fencing Senior Night
Meredith O’Brien’s favorite moments from senior year was her fencing senior night. As she walked out to the center of the gym and saw her family and friends cheering for her, it was one of the most heartwarming moments for her to see all the love and support.
“My favorite moment from senior year was my fencing senior night because we got to celebrate all the seniors and all the hard work our team has put in,” said Meredith.
Morgan Fencing senior night celebrated nine seniors, including Meredith O’Brien, who was one of four captains. The other three were Henry Tessman, Riley Brauchler, and Joey O’Brien.
2. Morgan Musical: Mamma Mia

The 2025 Morgan musical, Mamma Mia, was a hit. It was the first show in the history of the new Morgan School to sell out a show night. The musical had some new faces this year, one of them being senior Olivia Ruotolo, who played Lisa, lead character Sophie’s best friend.
“I stepped out of my comfort zone and was very happy that I received one of the lead roles alongside one of my best friends!,” said Ruotolo. Olivia made many new friends and memories to last her a lifetime.
As the curtains opened on opening night, Olivia was filled with nerves and excitement as she prepared to step out onto the stage as one of the first numbers to perform. She describes that the costumes and music were so fun, and that she had such an amazing time, as it was one of her favorite moments.

3. Last volleyball win
Alyssa’s Ruthstrom’s favorite moment from her senior year was when the Morgan volleyball team won their last regular season game for volleyball. The game was against East Haven and had a final score of 3-0.
After tipping the ball over the net and scoring the winning point of the game to qualify for states and Shorelines, Alyssa had a giant smile on her face, never wanting the moment to end.
“This is my favorite moment because volleyball always been a sport that was like, like really resonated with me; and it’s my, it’s like a place for me to just escape and that I love and to be able to get away from the stress.” Said Alyssa.
The team hadn’t been having a very successful season, ending with an 8-12 record, and the previous year they didn’t qualify for Shorelines or states, so being able to advance was huge for them and very special for Alyssa.
4. Field Hockey Senior Night
Bright lights shined down on the turf as the buzzer went off and the Morgan field hockey team had beat Lyman Hall on their senior night.
Senior Izzy Lee ran over and gave Olivia Siciliano and Meredith O’Brien, other seniors on the team, hugs filled with tears.
“It was such a surreal moment because I had put in so much hard work into the past four years, and it was all over so fast” said Izzy.
She was so happy to have spent her high school years doing that and was with some of the best people in her life.
With a challenging season, the field hockey ended with a 4-11-1 record and had four seniors this year.
5. Senior Field Day

To celebrate the seniors at the end of the year during senior week, the class has a field day for the school day on May 27, 2025. From competitive games of volleyball to fun games of spike ball, the seniors spent the day coming together as a class.
For senior, Ava Rutolo, this was her favorite moment from the year. “It was my favorite moment because we go to skip school and play volleyball the whole time with my favorite friends. We had a lot of fun demolishing other teams, and it was a great way to end the year!” Ava said.
