The Morgan lacrosse team held their senior night this Wednesday, May 14th, beating Cromwell 18-3 in a rainy game on (IROC field.
With this win, it leads Morgan to 6-5 on the season, with a chance for the playoffs and a shoreline spot.

The senior lacrosse players were called out one by one, where they were given a flower and met their parents at midfield to take photos.
Senior, Josh Nobitz, made a special guest appearance where he introduced each player, and announced what they’re doing after high school and what they’re favorite memory was in their lacrosse seasons.
”The energy was electric. We just wanted to destroy Cromwell, and we did just that. ” said Captain Cole Donnelly.
Tyler Farrell, a senior captain attack men said, “This game was great. I think we came out here strong, knowing we were going to win, so we all kept our composure and were humble.”
The game turned into a blowout quickly, with Morgan scoring six goals in the first quarter, highlighted by three goals by Tyler Farrell. After halftime, the Morgan boys lacrosse team sat most of their starters to give time to J.V. players to train and improve. Tanner Hudson, a J.V. midfield player, stood out in the second half, scoring three goals.
After the win, the biggest takeaway for Captain Hunter Roth was “winning as a team. There were many games last year where we didn’t get to finish because we weren’t being a team, and I think the chemistry has skyrocketed since last year, which makes us a better team.”
The Morgan boys’ lacrosse team has been rolling of late, beating Law on May 10 at home,15-5, and battling through a close game with Old Lyme on May 13, away, 5-2, with Jake Hunter and Tyler Farrell all scoring.

Morgan now looks ahead to the Valley Regional High School. The last time they faced off, they defeated them 10-8 on May 5th in a rainy game. Their next game after that is Haddam Killingworth. The last time they faced them, they lost 4-15 on May 1. This game will be a “revenge game,” says Senior Captain Cole Donnally.
Donnally also stated, “We haven’t defeated HK in a while, beating them would put shock into the shoreline conference, showing that we can do anything.”
Morgan’s last game is against Old Saybrook, whom they previously played on May 9, losing 17-4. Hunter Roth, a midfielder, had one goal and one assist for Morgan that game. Roth said, “You know it’s a great team. They have a great face-off kid, and they have lots of chemistry on that team. So I think we need to just go out there with a positive attitude and also work hard in practice if we want this win.”
Hunter Roth and Tyler Farrell, two senior captains, had a standout game against Old Saybrook, scoring 5 points each. Roth stated that “I’m gonna miss this team. I’ve been playing for over 4 years now, and not being able to play with some of the juniors is gonna feel weird.” Roth is going to play for Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts, a D3 program. Farrell agrees with Roth, saying, “It’s gonna sting leaving the boys behind. I have also been playing

With them since I was young, and it was a huge part of my life.” Farrell is going to Sacred Heart University and is going to play club lacrosse there. Farrell was asked if he was excited about this opportunity, and he said,” Yeah. I always wanted to play a college sport, especially at that level. They’re a great program.”
