The Stories Behind the Dresses: 2025 Senior Prom Dress Guide

Prom season has come upon The Morgan School, but for many, it will be their last, as senior prom is quickly approaching on May 16. It can be a stressful time, as picking out the perfect dress is a core feature of it. Many Morgan students have picked their dresses, but if you’re still searching for one, they’re here to help.

From when Ava Ruotolo began searching for a prom dress, it took her about one week to find the one just right for her. Her dress is strapless, light pink, and floral. It cost $370 from an online dress website named PromGirl. Ava found this website through scrolling on Instagram one day and seeing an ad pop up advertising that very dress she bought. The dress shipped right out of New York, and it took a week for her to receive it.
While on the website, she saw that the prices weren’t too bad and the quality of the dresses were excellent. Not only did she find a good website for herself to use, but she could also recommend it to others needing a dress.
Ava chose this dress because she wanted to try something different, and she loved the poofiness of the dress and the style of it. “It’s super comfy, and I feel super pretty and confident in it, so I knew it was the dress when I first tried it on.”
Originally, she had her eyes set on a different prom dress her freshman year. It was a bronze body-con dress with an intricate pattern all over it. Many girls dream of what they will look like at prom when they’re older. She ended up getting a dress similar to that one for junior prom. So, she surprised herself and found this new dress that she got, which she loved. She knew that a floral ballgown style was going around in terms of trends, especially on social media, and it inspired her to try it.
This dress is special for Ava because in her words, “it’s the prettiest dress I own, and I probably wouldn’t be able to wear this dress anywhere else, so it will be special to me as my senior prom dress.” She also says this dress reflects her interests and likes, stating “I love flowers and spring and summer in general and this dress is so summery and flowy and romantic to me in a way.”
Her favorite thing about the dress is the fact that it has a strapless corset top, and the bottom poofs out with a nice slit. She also likes that it seems like something a princess would wear.
She will accessorize the dress with silver jewelry, which suits the dress best, but it’s a little disappointing for her because she typically wears gold jewelry. To match the jewelry, she’s also going to wear silver heels and silver earrings, topping it off with a pink or silver makeup look.

It didn’t take long for Angelie Jaramillo Navas to find her dress. She grabbed a couple of dresses to try on, and she was in and out of the Atiana’s boutique in Milford, Connecticut in about 30 minutes. Angelie discovered Atianas through many of her fellow classmates recommendations. The boutique has been known as the best place for prom dresses being that many Morgan alumni have bought their dresses from there. Her dress is turquoise, has a v-cut neckline, and slight accents of lace. She paid about $600.
From the start, Angelie knew she wanted a dress with an open back, and a slit so she searched for those two aspects. This dress does, in fact, include both of those details, making the open back her favorite part, but that’s not the only reason she chose it. She also loved how the dress fit on her and the color of it.
When she went shopping, she didn’t know what color she wanted, but when she saw the turquoise color of this dress, she instantly fell in love. “As soon as I tried it on, I knew it was the one,” stated Angelie. The dress also holds a special meaning to her. It reminds her of homecoming because it was the same color dress, so she thinks the color had a special meaning in a way.
To accessorize the dress, she’s will style her hair in a high messy bun. For jewelry, Angelie will be wearing long dangly earrings. As for shoes, typically heels are attire for feet, but she instead will wear sparkly flats. She’s also doing simple makeup and an elegant nail look.

After searching online and in store at Atiana’s for a few hours, Katie Nguyen picked her perfect dress, designed by Jovani and costing around $300. Her dress is orange, has sequins, and a plunging neckline. “I knew it was the one when I had been trying on dresses with my mom for hours and there was something I didn’t like about every dress, until this one, and it was the very last one I had in my pile to try on,” stated Nguyen
Although she went to Atiana’s early in prom season, they still didn’t have a big selection of orange prom dresses. This was a challenge because she was set on doing orange, which she thinks represents her well because it makes a statement. Since she wanted this color so bad, it made it her favorite part of her dress.
Katie knew she wanted to do a bold and fun dress for her senior year. “When is the next time we will be able to go all out and dress up?” exclaimed Katie. She originally said she didn’t want sequins because she did that last year, but when she saw how vibrant it was, it called her name out. She chose this dress because it was the most flattering one she found.
To top it off, it will be difficult to style her hair for prom being that she recently cut it to a bob, but she plans to curl it and accessorize with silver jewelry.
