19.1 million students go to college. 1.5 million students go to a trade school. To focus on understanding their career goals and the types of positions they’re interested in.
Chloe Allen, a senior, is going to Rochester Institute of Technology in New York. She decided to make this choice about a month ago. Allen stated that she loves the campus and the people who go there are just her people. Allen said, “It’s made of completely brick or glass. It’s in one of the rainiest places in the US, which is Rochester. [Also] They’re one of the best STEM schools in the nation¨ Her biggest weakness as a student is procrastination, and she didn’t think much about that when she applied to her college. Allen pointed out that her brother’s friend told her all about the college and how she should visit it. She did with her family, and she absolutely loves the college.
Meadow Papacoda, a senior, is going to TIGI in Guilford, CT. She found out about the college through a job shadow. TIGI is a trade school. Papacoda stated, “It’s like a hairdresser or a statistician school, but I’m going for hairdressing.” She likes that. Despite her success, it hasn’t always been easy because junior year she did barely any work, which put down her GPA. Papacoda feels like this direction will help her be successful. Papacoda stated,¨I like doing makeup and like practicing on my friends, so I feel like [it is] just the best option other than college.¨
