Vacations are times when students get to spend time out of school. A time to relax, and enjoy activities like traveling. The idea of spring break began in 1938 with a swim forum event in Lauderdale, Florida. According to OnlineSchools.org, by 1985 more than 370,000 students were travelling to Ft. Lauderdale to enjoy their spring breaks. Nowadays, spring break typically lasts a week or two. Spring break has become a popular time for traveling, relaxation, and catching up. The PawPrint sat down with three Morgan students to learn what they did during their spring break and how they enjoyed it.

Jude Watson, a sophomore. Watson works as a lifeguard at the Madison Racquet Club, although he has a job, Watson didn’t work during spring break. He had the opportunity to travel to France with the school. “We flew to Paris and spent a lot of time admiring all the monuments and the Eiffel Tower,” he said. This experience allowed Watson to get a break from his job and an exploring experience in France with the school.
On the other hand, Maddy Caruso , junior, enjoyed a more traditional vacation with her family. She and her family drove to Myrtle Beach, where they stayed for about a week. “We were by the water, saw different attractions, and hung out at the beach and pool. We had a lot of fun,” said Caruso. On her return after her vacation, she worked a couple of days at a pizza restaurant in Guilford.

Eric Lopez, also a sophomore, experiences his spring break differently, yet he is happy with the way he spent his spring break. He worked almost every day at ShopRite and a landscaping company. With his only day being off was Sunday after 3pm, “I feel great. I have money in my pocket,” Lopez says. Eric Lopez, a hard-working kid, is satisfied with how he spent his spring break.

This shows how students at The Morgan School experience their vacations differently. Some chose to travel while ours work and save up money. Vacations offer students the opportunity to grow and experience fun times!!
