Check out The Harlem Wizards fun Morgan experienced on Tuesday during Advisory!
This past Tuesday the Harlem Wizards visited Morgan and gave us a preview of the show that will be here at Morgan on Thursday, November 21, 2013, at 7:00 pm. Project Graduation 2014 (PG-14) is hosting the event to raise money for the safe graduation night. I asked Mrs. Harris, who is involved in PG-14, what they hope to raise. She stated, “We are hoping to raise $4,000 from the basketball game. We are trying to raise $30,000 total for the graduation night.” The Harlem Wizards will be doing tricks, coordinated ball handling, fancy passing, and aerodynamic athleticism combined with high-energy comedy and audience interaction.
In the pregame show at Morgan, the two Harlem Wizards players, Eric and Marvin, were able to get every student off their feet and energized. Many students were pulled from the crowd to test their skills against them. Eric and Marvin played the game “You’ve Been Tricked”. All the students and teacher, Mrs. O’Reilly, had to do was catch the basketball when either Eric of Marvin passed it to them. This was not as easy as it came across. The two Harlem Wizards have many tricks up their sleeves that no student at Morgan could compete with. However, it was a different story for Mrs. O’Reilly. With her “pro” basketball skills, she was able to out trick the two Harlem Wizards.
Eric encourages students to come to this event saying, “Not only are they getting a great show, not only will they be promoting community and school unity, but it is helping Project Graduation so it’s a win-win across the board.”
Come out to the Morgan Gym on Thursday, November 21 to watch Mrs. Hagness, Mr. Webb, Mr. Cross, Mr. Jacobson, Mr. Fritz, and Mr. & Mrs. Luther attempt to compete with the Harlem Wizards. Tickets are $10 in advance for both students and adults and can be purchased through your child’s school or online at www.harlemwizards.com. Tickets are $12 at the door, if they did not sell out in advance. Contact Theresa Harris at [email protected] for more information.
Buy your tickets now and be more than a spectator for the game. Be a part of the Harlem Wizards fun!

The pre-show during advisory was terrific. I am certain the event on November 21st will be exciting and worth the admission fee.
