The Morgan Schools new athletic director is Lewis Pappariella. Many of the students at Morgan refer to him as Mr. Pap. Mr. Pap worked at Cromwell High School (CHS) for 14 years before he came to Morgan.
Mr. Pap previously worked as a physical education teacher and a health teacher. Mr. Pap was a baseball coach for 14 years, 11 as head coach. He was also a football coach for 5 years. Mr. Pap came to Morgan to get a greater challenge in his career.
Mr. Pap feels that there is something different in Morgan than in Cromwell because “when you walk into this building, there is something special here, not only how beautiful the facility is but the people.” Mr. Pap feels that the vision of the school has great qualities that inspire him to take this role as an athletic director.
Mr. Pap sees the whole Morgan School when it comes to the students and faculty as one big family and feels that everyone here is included in everything.
Mr. Pap explained that he would like to take the “Captain’s Council” to the next level when it comes to athletics. The Captain’s Council at Morgan held a workshop for captains last year, and Mr.Pap wants to be able to expand the program.
Also, Mr. Pap would like to get students and/or athletes involved in internships programs to help promote the games on social media. Mr. Pap explained that he wants to “be able to say this is our school and our athletic department.” Mr. Pap believes in the strong relationships with the students and faculty. The Morgan School can be as great as we want it to be.
