At the end of every school year, the Morgan seniors enjoy Husky Helper Day. On Husky Helper Day, the seniors go out into the Clinton community during their school day and volunteer in a variety of locations. Volunteer projects include beach cleanup, gardening, and working at the fire station. There are also mentoring activities like working with younger children and being Joel helpers. Finally, there are community projects such as visiting the elderly. Journalism students then document students making a difference by capturing social media updates of the seniors’ activities. This year’s hashtag will be #HuskyHelperDay2018.
This is an event that all of the seniors look forward to. Senior Emma Riccio said, “I’m excited to play a part in this community because sometimes it’s hard to find opportunities, but the fact that our school does this for us is really exciting, and it makes me feel good.”
Permission slips were sent home but there are hard copies in The Morgan School main office. These permission slips are due May 11, 2018. This year’s Husky Helper Day will be on June 1st, 2018.
