The Morgan Boys basketball players ended their season going 4-16. The Morgan Boys Basketball team was coached by Ken Beeman. He has been coaching these boys all four years.  The Morgan Pawprint interviewed both of the senior captains to get their input on the season and the future of the Morgan Basketball team.

Senior Captain Tyler Newfield

A senior captain Tyler Newfield has been playing basketball “…since 1st grade.” Playing in park and rec for his first few years before moving on to a travel team, middle school and now high school basketball, Tyler has a long history of playing basketball.  He played his last basketball game just this past Monday away at Cromwell High School. Tyler shared his opinion on the season saying, “We could have been really good if we had the right developmental tools to help us work together.” Tyler also added that he has high hopes for the future of Morgan Boys Basketball. He said, “we will have a new coaching staff and new incoming talent.” Tyler is referring to the incoming freshmen. Tyler said, “I like the team aspect and playing with my teammates against other teams.”

Senior Captain Patrick Markovics

Another senior Captain Patrick Markovics has been playing since he was in 3rd grade. Patrick, along with Tyler, has played on park and rec teams as well as middle school ball. He is now found playing for the Huskies at the Morgan School. He said, “We could have done better, but I am proud of the effort everybody put forth.” Patrick also told the PawPrint that “the future is bright, a lot of talented young players coming up.” When asked about what Patrick liked best about basketball, he said, “I like playing with my friends and shooting around.”

Tyler and Patrick both agreed that the future is looking positive for Morgan Basketball. Hopefully, the new coaching staff and the upcoming players can improve the record of the Huskies. Good luck to the Morgan basketball team!
