A new school means new traditions on a new field.
The Class of 2017 is going to be the first class to graduate from the new Morgan School and administration is hoping to create new and exciting traditions for future ceremonies. “We’re going to honor some traditions that we’ve done,” said Mrs. Hagness, but the new traditions are being kept secret from all students.
Graduation rehearsal will be at 10:00 am on Tuesday, June 13th. At 6 pm the same day, the Class of 2017 will be graduating. This ceremony will occur on the practice football field at the New Morgan School, weather permitting. The building will serve as a backdrop for the event. If it rains, the event will be held in the gym, with the new air conditioning system.
A significant part of the graduation ceremony is speeches. Different Seniors will be speaking at the event. The speakers are:
- Class President Marcus McDermott
- Board of Education Student Representatives Autumn Johnson and Lindsay Harden
- Valedictorian Julia Horan
- Salutatorian Samuel Moran
These students are currently working on writing their speeches.
The last day of classes will be Tuesday, June 6th. Final exams are from June 7- June 13th.
