Kiara Lopez’s Pajama Drive

Written by Shelby Alfano |

Freshman Kiara Lopez was doing a pajama drive to give back to the hospital that saved her life. She had a brain tumor that had exploded and could have killed her, but she survived.

The pajama drive has been occurring since November 10 to December 1. She needed people to bring in pajamas the size of 2T, 3T, 5T, and 6T for children at the Hospital for Special Care in New Britain. She was also collecting socks, fleece blankets, and toys, but they couldn’t be stuffed animals.Pajama Drive

This was a great opportunity with the holidays fast approaching to brighten a child’s stay in the hospital.

Kiara counted the items she received and came up with 27 pairs of pajamas and 17 blankets. She also received additional donations that still need to be counted.

She is proud of the outcome she received because of all the hard work everybody did for the pajama drive.

Kiara did this fundraiser all on her own. I think it was a nice way for her to give back to the hospital that saved her life.
