The beginning of every year one of the most widely spoken topics at The Morgan School is our football team. With a record of 10 wins and 2 losses last year, last season was one of the most successful seasons ever. After a booming season like that, the stakes are high for the Huskies this year!
Captain Eric Peterson, Senior, shares, “Providing no injury of players, we will have a chance at the championship this year.” Peterson and Gabe Eriksen, junior, agree that one of their top priorities aside from the championship is winning their game against Valley Regional High School, due to the fact that they lost against them last year.
Senora Luther, along with Mr. Luther and their two boys, are avid fans of the Morgan Huskies. Senora speaks about her two twin sons, “They love the football team. They love to come and watch the big kids play. As a family, we love to go to the Morgan Football games!” Mr. Zawadski is also an avid attender of the football games. He says he is excited for this season.
Not only are the teachers excited to attend the games, but of course the students are as well. Anthony Choronzy, sophomore, has a few good friends on the team and says he “can’t wait to watch them this season”. The games would not be the same without the support of fellow classmates as fans in the stands!
The comradery on the football team is especially impressive. Both upperclassmen and underclassmen on the team work together to form a family. Eli Luchuck, sophomore, says, “We’re all friends and overcome our problems together. We have a pretty strong team right now and should do well this year.”
This past Friday the 12th was the official kick-off of the season as the boys faced HK at home. Many fans came out to support our Morgan Huskies!
