Morgan baseball has gone through an up and down season up to this point. Tuesday, April, 24, marked the third and biggest win yet. The team destroyed 3-4 Portland with an 11-3 victory led by a good pitching performance by Tim Neri and great hitting performances by Matt Chidsey, Will Thompson, Ryan Donovan, Alex Lipka, and Stefan DiCrosta who posted his first home run of the season. The Huskies jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead in the top of the 2nd following it with another run in the 3rd. In the 4th inning though, they did their biggest damage putting up 8 runs and leaving two runners on base at the end of the inning. They posted one more run in the 5th and were held quiet after that.
Tim Neri held his 11 run lead until 2 outs in the last inning. He breezed through the first 2 outs until a little fly ball dropped in between the second baseman and the right fielder. This led to three more hits that put across Portland’s only 3 runs. The Huskies eventually closed the door with the 3rd out of the inning. Their 3rd win of the season put them right back in the hunt for the top of the Shoreline.
