The Morgan girls basketball team won a game against Old Lyme with a score of 34-32 and a game against our well-known rivals, HK, 44-40.

On Friday, January 10th, our Huskies gave us a show against the Cromwell Panthers. Before the game, Head Coach Caitlin Woods said, “we’re ready. They’re a good team too.” As the game started, Senior Captain Leah McComiskey won the tip-off. She continued to be accurate and persistent throughout the game with her three-pointer swishes.

Junior Captain Caitlyn Donadio was also very aggressive throughout the game. As a captain, she showed the crowd what she was made of and took the lead on the court along McComiskey’s side. All starters were very determined with their offense, especially freshmen Katie Martin, Caillie Aire, and junior Alex Kelly. Both freshmen defended well and were very accurate with their rebounds. Within her first ten seconds of playing time, Senior Rachel Lehn showed her aggression with attempts and proved she wanted to dominate along side senior Annalyse Olcott.

Towards the 2nd half, the Cromwell Panthers caught up and unfortunately took this win from Morgan.

Catch our girls play against Westbrook on our home court on January 24nd at 7pm. Visit CIAC’s website for more game dates.
