The End of the Line

This school year is quickly coming to an end, and for the seniors, it’s the end of our career here at Morgan. For many of us seniors, this is a time of mixed emotions.  We are experiencing all of the exciting only for senior events like assassins, senior skip day, senior prom, Husky Helper Day, and of course graduation. Many seniors have already had their last senior night, last big game, last musical, or whatever activity that has been a major part of their high school career.

But there is one thing that is the same for all of us: the last hours walking down these halls with the people we have grown up with for the past 12 or more years. For many of us, Clinton has been our home since we were born. Most of us will be going off to college in a matter of months. We will be in a whole new environment with new people, new experiences, and new knowledge. Senior Julia Horan said, “I think the hardest part for me is going to be leaving behind all of the amazing people I have met here who have changed who I am as a person, in specific all of the great teachers I have had over the years who have been everything I could have wanted in high school teachers.” Senior Sydney Chomicz said, “I’m very excited to move on and for new experiences in college, but it’ll be sad to go.”

As bittersweet as it may be to leave our friends and teachers behind, there are still so many more opportunities left in our final days at Morgan to make even more memories. Senior prom will be held on May 12 at Water’s Edge; Husky Helper day is on May 19th, and the senior trip to Six Flags is on May 26th. We also have the infamous game of assassins starting on May 1st.

Although we only have a little over a month left, and many of us are counting the days until we walk across the stage, we should all try to make the most of our final days here at Morgan.
