On Friday, December 9, 2016 (二零一六年十二月九日) the Chinese 2 class went on a field trip to Chinatown in Queens. Last year, the students were not able to go. The students caught the train (火车) that morning at 7:25 am in Clinton.  After stopping at Union Station in New Haven, they arrived at Grand Central. Once there, the students had to take a subway (地铁) to Flushing, New York (纽约法拉盛). The students finally arrived at Flushing at about 12:00 pm (中午).

Students ate Chinese food, ordering in Chinese. Students also walked around Flushing, going to different shops and getting authentic Chinese cuisine (食物). Students walked everywhere, not taking a taxi or any other public transportation. They then made their way to Koreatown to go to different tea shops and to gain a better understanding of the culture. While in Koreatown, the students had the opportunity to buy authentic souvenirs such as clothes or food. This trip was a great way for students to be in the center of the culture and to look at it from the inside. Students caught the train back to Clinton (克林顿) train station at about 7:30 pm.

Below are pictures and a video of the students in Flushing
