    Dear Betty

    Dear+Betty

    Dear Betty,

I have lost my Northface jacket and I’m pretty sure I saw my good friend steal it, but I don’t want to say anything.  This jacket cost $175 dollars and I would really love to have it back.  I do not want to confront this person. What should I do?

    Sincerely, A cold Freshman

    Dear Cold Freshman,

I can understand why you don’t want to lose this jacket, but I can also understand your problem with confrantation.  You feel as though your friend will feel fingers are being pointed and feel it’s not fair.  Even if your friend did take this jacket he/she will deny it which will make you feel like a bad friend.  I personally advise you to tell the office and ask them to make an annoucement that the jacket was lost, and there is a name tag inside the collar.  This could potentially scare the theif into handing it in.  It will help teach this person a lesson,  and hopefully, you will get your jacket back.

    Sincerely,

    Betty

    Dear Betty,

I dress differently than most people in the school; I wouldn’t neccesarily say I dress weird but differently.  I like the way I dress, but I feel as though I get dirty looks in the hall from my peers.  Normally I don’t let looks get to me, but it happens so often now and im starting to hear sneaky remarks.  I don’t want to change my look, but this is getting extremely difficult to deal with.  What do you advise I do?

    Sincerely,

    A Unique Teenager

    Dear Unique Teenager,

Although it seems people are not accepting you for who you are right now, they will in the future and that’s a promise!  Your peers will actually respect you for not changing who you are to  please others  whether you feel people don’t accept you for your clothing, your hair, your makeup, ect.    Keep doing what you want to do and your peers will soon becom nicer. Stay strong!

    Sincerely,

    Dear Betty
